Waste Not, Want Not: How to Become a #RecyclingHero

Waste Not, Want Not: How to Become a #RecyclingHero

Reduce, re-use, recycle. How many times have we read that slogan on bus stop signs and office noticeboards? Hundreds, if not thousands, right? But how many times have we stopped to consider what it would take to become a #RecyclingHero?

On Monday 18th March, we are celebrating Global Recycling Day – a day all about (you guessed it!) preserving our precious primary resources through recycling waste. Humanity can’t survive without the natural resources of water, air, oil, natural gas, coal and minerals, but they are rapidly running out. Did you know, for example, that humans have consumed more of these resources in the last 50 years than in all previous history?

The situation may seem dire, but don’t worry eco-warriors, we have a seventh resource up our sleeve… recycling! Every year the ‘Seventh Resource’ saves over 700 million tonnes in CO2 emissions and employs approximately 1.6 million people worldwide. And there’s more! If given the chance, recycled materials can supply up to 40% of the world’s raw material needs.

In 2024, Global Recycling Day is about more than just understanding the facts; it’s about making small changes in your daily life that help you to become a #RecyclingHero! To make recyclables more widespread and accessible, we offer a vast range of recycled products in our eco-store. Here are our customers’ top three favourites this month:
